I am going to be 57 in less than two weeks. You are right in that the stuff from my youth is more vivid to me than what I did a year ago. Time goes faster now. Sad thing is I am growing old alone. I always feared that. That's a fact of life I was never taught. I had a child who grew up, married and had three children who I love all with all my heart. But their lives move on, grandchildren become teens and no longer need you around. In the end it's just me. I don't have a mate and haven't in 27 years and counting. Not even a date.
